Austin Elite Prep was founded by Dr. Amar, with the mission to provide the best GRE prep.

Austin Elite Prep is the premier GRE preparation program in Central Texas. Austin Elite Prep was started in 2014 by Dr. Ajay Amar, who holds a doctorate from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management. Dr. Amar founded our company on a simple philosophy: People learn best from great teaching and curriculum.

Our approach to GRE preparation emphasizes quality of teaching above all. Our focus is on our students and their graduate school goals.

During Dr. Amar's early years at Berkeley, he worked as a teaching assistant to the renowned Nobel Laureate Owen Chamerlain. The Nobel laureates and other "monster minds" from whom Dr. Amar had the privilege to learn had a profound and enduring influence on his thinking. His graduate school education is the basis for Austin Elite Prep's philosophy today.

Teaching is personal; learning is paramount. We believe GRE prep is best done in small, in-person classes where every student can receive individual attention.
GRE preparation cannot be hurried. We emphasize properly paced instruction, with time allowed for practice and absorption of knowledge.
Quality trumps quantity every time. A small-group class allows each student to discuss GRE concepts in detail with the professor, and to hear other students' questions, ultimately prompting the student into more active learning and better knowledge retention.
